Funeral services held for GJPD commander

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Funeral services for Grand Junction Police Commander Greg Assenmacher will be held on Monday at Fellowship Church.

According to a release from the police department, the funeral will take place at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will immediately follow at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery.

Grand Junction police want drivers to be prepared for traffic delays in the area Monday afternoon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Haley and Madison Assenmacher Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank and to the Western Slope Center for Children, according to the release.
