Fugitive arrested in GJ
Abel Nunez held with no bond
A Grand Junction man wanted on drug charges and for eluding police has been caught.
Abel Nunez, 36, was arrested early Thursday morning.
Authorities say he was arrested after hiding from police in a bathroom in the 400 block of 32 1/2 Road. He was taken in without incident.
Police attempted to make contact with Nunez last weekend but he fled the area before deputies could detain him. Authorities sent out a recorded message on the Emergency and Community Alert System and a text message asking residents to stay inside their homes and report any suspicious activity.
Nunez is currently being held at the Mesa County Detention Center with no bond.
