A financial investigation has wrapped up at Fruita's Chamber of Commerce.
Officials have been working with one of its former directors to identify misuse of chamber funds.
Back in June, former chamber director, Leanne Ingwersen, was forced to resign from her post.
Since then she's been the subject of a financial investigation and audit.
Officials have been looking into Ingwersen's accounting and management practices as the director of the chamber.
The purpose of the investigation was to identify any misappropriations of, and inefficiencies, with the use of chamber capital and revenue.
The chamber's board of directors has sent out an email, telling its members that the audit is complete and the process has begun to recover any misused funds.
When asked to comment, board president John Burwell Jr. would not address the situation more specifically.
Burwell says “We haven't let it effect this year. We're excited about moving into the new year and adding a couple new board members and just that opportunity.”
The board of directors for the chamber wants to thanks its members for being patient.
Our attempts to reach Ingwersen for comment were unsuccessful.
