The family and friends of a Clifton woman killed in a hit-and-run accident this week are begging for justice.

32-year-old Amber Davidovich was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle while walking in downtown Grand Junction.  She later died hospital.

The last few days have been overwhelming, to say the least, for those who knew Amber the best.

They’re trying to stay optimistic saying that's the way Amber would've wanted it.  They want the person responsible behind bars.

It was over ten years ago that Kehau Martinez first met Amber Davidovich.

They started out as work friends but over the years they became more like sisters.

"She is my person and my biggest supporter,” Kahau said.  “She was just the type of person to see the good in everyone."

Amber’s friends say her life was dedicated to her two children, husband, and family.

After the shock of Amber's death, Kahau’s emotions have turned to heartbreak.

"I’m an adult, I can grieve, and I can get through this but her son wasn't even a year old yet. Her daughter is eight years old,” Kahau said.  “She was a mother and her daughter was her best friend. They did everything together. I hurt for them."

"She was so fun, jovial, and just great to be around. She would want everyone to remember her as such."

Amber will save seven lives as an organ donor and help more than 70 others through tissue donations.

"She would give you her last dollar and the shirt off her back. She was that person," Kehau said.

As police continue to search for the person responsible, her friends and family hope for justice.

"I’m just really adamant about if anybody knows anything please let the police know because this person does not deserve to be out on the street,” Kehau said.

A memorial fund has been set up at Alpine Bank for Amber's family.
