GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Roice-Hurst Humane Society is teaming up with Laughing Dog Coffee House for a good cause.  They’re selling french toast to benefit cats and dogs.

All proceeds from the restaurant's sales, Sunday, will go to the nonprofit shelter for homeless animals.

The coffee shop’s owners have three dogs of their own.

This is the first time Laughing Dog has helped fundraise for Roice-Hurst.

The shelter depends on events like this to take care of the animals living there.

“We decided to do the Roice-Hurst benefit because we love animals and we thought it’s a worthy cause,” Laughing Dog Coffee House owner, Kent Diemer, said.  “We like to help out people in the neighborhood and this is a great way to do it.”

For almost 50 years, Roice-Hurst has been helping pets get adopted in Mesa County.

The money raised from Sunday’s event will go towards funding the shelter's operations and animal needs.
