Fort Carson soldiers coming home for Thanksgiving
Some Fort Carson soldiers are back home in time for Thanksgiving and more are on their way.
One hundred-fifty members of the 4th Infantry Division's 4th Brigade Combat team were welcomed home Tuesday after serving nine months in eastern Afghanistan. The brigade previously served there between 2009 and 2010.
This time, the brigade oversaw the creation of the Afghan National Security Forces.
The Gazette (http://bit.ly/WjQvHg ) reports that nine soldiers and an airman attached to the brigade were killed during the deployment.
About 50 more Fort Carson soldiers are scheduled to return home Wednesday.
