CRAIG, Colo. -

The Bureau of Land Management says a fire is burning on an estimated 2,000 acres of private land west of Craig. The blaze is threatening structures and has prompted an unknown number of evacuations.

The Craig Daily Press reports that firefighters are focusing their work on saving several homes east of the blaze, but the winds are continuing to push the flames in that direction.

It is not clear exactly how many homes are threatened and how many people have been evacuated.

Air support has been called in to help fight the fire.
