EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. -

Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol say a female was killed after the SUV she was riding in rolled on I-70 Wednesday morning.

Just after 10:00 a.m., a Chevy Avalanche lost control near mile marker 152 and traveled off the right side of the interstate. The truck overturned one and a half times before coming to a rest on its roof, according to C.S.P.

The driver and front-seat passenger, both males, suffered moderate to serious injuries. They were taken to Vail Valley Medical Center.

The rear passenger, a female, was pronounced dead on scene by the Eagle County Coroner.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but troopers say alcohol or drugs aren't considered factors at this time.

They said it appeared that all occupants in the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The accident shut down an eastbound lane of I-70 for nearly four hours; the interstate was reopened around 1:50 p.m.
