A local man who admitted to posing as a District 51 tutor before sexually assaulting a student was sentenced in court Thursday.
Adam Ross, 28, will spend the next 12 years in prison followed by 10 years to life mandatory parole. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
Ross agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid a jury trial in this case by admitting to one count of Sexual Assault on a child. Four remaining charges were dismissed.
Ross was arrested back in November of 2011 after the teenage girl he was tutoring apparently admitted to her parents that they had sex. During the ensuing two-week investigation, District 51 officials told police Ross was not one of their tutors.
