Explosion rocks Grand Junction home

Two people hospitalized

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

An afternoon explosion at 1332 N. 23rd Street sent two people to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to police, a detonation took place inside a safe located in the house.

That detonation caused an explosion inside the home.

The exact cause of the detonation has not been pinpointed, but a bomb technician is on scene trying to determine what it was inside the safe that may have led to this incident.

No other homes are said to be threatened and no evacuations needed.
