Elected officials to be sworn in
Oath ceremonies are taking place Tuesday afternoon for the newly elected officials of Mesa County.
The event begins at 1:00 p.m. in the public hearing room at the Old County Courthouse off of 6th Street and Rood Avenue in Grand Junction.
John Justman will be sworn in as the new commissioner for District 1 and Rose Pugliese will take her oath as the new commissioner for District 3.
Newly elected commissioners and the new district attorney for Garfield County will also undergo ceremonies on Tuesday.
John Martin and Mike Samson will take their oaths at 10:00 a.m. in the Garfield County administrative building.
Sherry Caloia, the new district attorney for Garfield County, will take her oath at the court house.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the ceremonies.
