Early morning hay fire lights up sky
Fire crews called out around midnight on Thursday
Around midnight on Thursday, firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at 1050 22 Road.
Our crews tell us that hundreds of bales of hay went up in smoke. Authorities initially thought a barn had also collapsed, but that information was incorrect.
According to officials at the scene, Lower Valley Fire let it burn into the early morning hours due to safety concerns. They waited to put it out until later in the day.
There is no word on what caused the early morning blaze and no injuries have been reported.
