Durango could put sex shops in industrial park
The Durango City Council is considering a proposal that could require sex shops and gentlemen clubs to entertain their customers in an industrial park.
Under a revised land-use code, strip clubs would be classified as light industrial businesses requiring new locations.
According to the Durango Herald (http://tinyurl.com/by4qzhw ), the proposal is considered a good compromise because the club would be far from schools and churches. Officials also assume the clientele would prefer the anonymity of an industrial park.
The issue arose while the council was discussing loosening regulations on vacation rentals over concerns they would hurt the city's image.
