Deputy-involved shooting leaves one person hospitalized
Incident took place Thursday morning in Naturita
A traffic stop Thursday morning in Naturita took a dangerous turn when shots were fired.
The incident took place on Highway 145 when a Montrose County Sheriff's Deputy was conducting a traffic stop.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff's Office, a deputy reported shots fired and requested medical response.
A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, and transported one person to the hospital.
No serious injuries to deputies were reported.
The Montrose County Sheriff's Office says there is no public safety risk at this time, but the investigation continues, with only one lane of traffic getting by at mile marker 106.
