Officers with the Delta Police Department are on paid administrative leave after a fight puts one person in the hospital. It happened in a Wal-Mart parking lot where officers responded to a suspicious vehicle.

The call came in just before 1:00 AM yesterday morning with a report of a suspicious vehicle with two people inside. After arriving at the Wal-Mart, Delta Police officers were involved in a fight in the parking lot. The alleged fight has left one person in the hospital.

The Delta Police department has asked for help from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to look into the incident. We reached out to them but they said the investigation was still ongoing and couldn't comment.

Those involved were placed on paid leave in line with department policy.
