It was a tragic Wednesday night near Delta as a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle and killed.

Police say the man, identified as 63 year-old Craig Warren Hampton of Delta was riding his bike east on Highway 92, and attempting to cross the highway near Henrie Street.

As he made his way into the roadway, he was struck by a pickup driven by a 60 year-old man from Eckert. 

Mr. Hampton was transported to St. Mary's via Careflight, where he later passed away.

The Delta Police Department says the case remains under investigation and at this time no additional details are being made available.
