Coroner ID's pedestrian killed in Redlands

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

The Mesa County Coroner has identified the man killed after being hit by a vehicle crossing Highway 340 on the evening of New Year's Day.

According to the coroner, 68-year-old John Timony was crossing Highway 340 around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

The coroner determined the manner of death to be accidental but reports that Timony had been drinking before the crash. His BAC was 0.075.

The Colorado State Patrol responded to the accident.
