Construction has been a common theme around Grand Junction this summer, and another detour on I-70 has traffic running in a single lane in both directions.
A major resurfacing project is slowing traffic on I-70 between Fruita and Mack.
The project spans 4.6 miles of the interstate.
If you're driving westbound, shortly after the Fruita exit, all traffic is being shifted into the eastbound lanes. There's a single lane moving in each direction, causing slower speed limits in the work zone.
This particular detour is expected to last about two months, at which time crews will begin resurfacing the eastbound lanes, meaning the detour will likely switch to the opposite side of the interstate.
