Colorado's Got Talent
Over the past six months a non profit has been traveling our state to find the most talented Coloradans
We’ve all heard of the show America’s Got Talent, but over the past six months a non profit has been traveling our state to find the most talented Coloradans. Two of the finalists are from the Western Slope.
One of them is 17 year old Destinee Reed. She sings and plays guitar and says the auditions just fell into her lap.
Now, she will be heading to Colorado Springs in January to compete against the rest of the finalists.
Destinee says at the audition she was known as the girl who played outside the bar by the brick wall because she could not perform inside as a minor.
But that did not stop her.
“I love performing and trying out for things,” she said. “I try out for everything I can. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't. I think it's just all experience and it's all fun.”
Destinee has been playing guitar and singing since she was ten. She says she would like to try out for a bigger talent competition once she finishes her education.
It is important to her to have a foundation to fall back on in case her dreams of performing do not work out.
