Colorado Springs allows its workers to carry guns
Colorado Springs city employees can now carry concealed weapons to work as long as they have the proper permit.
The Colorado Springs City Council decided Tuesday it was not fair to exclude workers because public and elected officials are already allowed to carry concealed weapons into most of the city's 140 or so buildings.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette (http://tinyurl.com/cwxg9uo ), some city officials opposed the change, saying it will not make city buildings any safer.
Mayor Steve Bach, who proposed the policy change, acknowledged that he and his wife have concealed carry permits and he carries his weapon when he thinks it's appropriate.
