Charges filed after traffic stop ends in shooting
Suspect who sustained wounds still in hopsital
Last Thursday's traffic stop, which ended with a deputy shooting and wounding a suspect, has resulted in charges for that same suspect.
The traffic stop occurred on Highway 145 in western Montrose County.
Two women, Ashley Ware, age 25, and Mechelle Lee, 33, were arrested on failure to appear warrants.
Monday afternoon, the Montrose County Sheriff's Office announced 32 year-old Tryllen Richards, of Naturita, is facing charges of 1st degree assault, a class three felony, and felony menacing, a class five felony.
Richards sustained a single bullet wound and was transported to the hospital.
Richards will be formally charged once released from the hospital.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the 7th Judicial District Critical Incident Team are continuing the investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
