Grand Junction, Colo. -

This week's Cat of the Week is Ruby. Ruby is a very sweet, 1 year old female. She was recently taken in by CLAWS from Mesa County Animal Services, and it most likely an owner relinquishment.

Ruby is a very gentle kitty. She loves to cuddle and play. She gets along well with other cats, but we are not sure how well she gets along with dogs. The reasoning behind that is Ruby came from Animal Services, and kitties that come from there don't have much of a back-story.

Ruby is currently waiting to be taken home at the PETCO in Grand Junction. Her adoption fee is $65, and that covers everything you will need to make her the newest edition to your family. If you are planning to take Ruby home, or any new cat for the matter, make sure you follow a few guidelines to make the adjustment as easy as possible for the cat. The first thing you should do is put the new kitty in room in your house with all her things.  That means toys, littler box, bed, etc. Let her stay in there for a few few days and get used to the new environment. Be sure to visit her several times a day as well! Once you think she is comfortable, open the door and let her come out and explore the rest of the house.

If you'd like to adopt Ruby, she is located at PETCO in Grand Junction. PETCO is located off of highway 6 and 50, before you get to the Mesa Mall. The phone number is 970.241.8340
