Case of hiccups leads to shooting death
A Texas man was reportedly trying to help cure a friend's case of the hiccups when his efforts went terribly wrong.
Police say Private First Class Isaac Young and Private First Class Patrick Myers, both stationed at Fort Hood, were drinking and watching football on Sunday night.
Young got the hiccups.
Police say Myers allegedly held a gun to Young's head, in an effort to scare the hiccups away.
The arrest report says Myers thought the gun was loaded with dummy rounds when he pointed it at his friend.
When the gun went off, a real bullet hit Young in the face. He died on the way to the hospital.
Myers has been charged with manslaughter in the incident. His bond has been set at $1,000,000.
