Colorado House District 54 Candidate Jared Wright will hold a press conference Monday to discuss his recent resignation from the Fruita Police Department.

The Mesa County District Attorney's Office confirms Wright is currently being internally investigated by the police force, but has not released any other details.

News of the resignation surfaced last week and since then Wright has decided not to comment. He will break his silence Monday, however, at the Mesa County Republican Headquarters at noon. The office is located at 1114 North 1st Street.

“I believe in personal integrity and the full transparency of those who seek to hold public office," Wright said. "For this reason, I personally extend an invitation to the media and all interested, concerned citizens to join me Monday at Republican Headquarters.”
