The westbound lanes of Highway 50 at the junction of CO Hwy 141 are closed Friday morning. This is due to a two-vehicle accident about half a mile west of Whitewater.

Around 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Colorado State Troopers got reports of a multiple-vehicle accident on Highway 50 at mile marker 40. They were on scene at 8:09 a.m. Our crews tell us a Lexus and a Subaru station wagon were the vehicles involved.

Trooper Lewis with the Colorado State Patrol tells us there is a fatality from the accident. Gender and age are unknown at this time.
