Paule Stiefler, born and raised in France, met her American husband in Paris. Next, via big US cities, they chose the perfect place for family, careers and enjoying life, right here in Grand Junction. Her desire to help others, resulted in the upcoming Body & Soul Makeover with the Dream Team.
"I just thought it would be really neat to give back to the community in a very positive way and also in a more grandiose way," said Stiefler.
After creating Le MedSpa and after considerable thought and encouraging support, it was time for a passion of hers to become a reality.
“The Dream Team is composed of several other businesses in town or individuals who are helping the winners," explained Stiefler.
The involved businesses chose two winners and a runner up from a large group of nominated candidates.
Organizing it and contacting everyone was a huge project, but they all wanted to be part of it.
“Just about everybody said ‘yes’ right away," she continued. "Most people did and I was really impressed and very grateful.”
Paula Anderson, a local eating behavior coach, was pleased to be asked to be on the Dream Team because food behavior plays a big part in this makeover.
“So I meet them where they are and talk about what their day is like as far as eating goes and then we go from there with strategies and also we look at their belief systems about food too, which is big.”
Taking those baby steps can be beneficial for us all at any age.
“Our bodies are amazing and they meet us more than half way if we just give them a chance. So, if you make a small shift in what you do every day, even if it’s just drinking water and eating an apple and noticing the changes that you have as a result from that, then you’re more inclined to try the next thing, whatever that is," Anderson said.
Adding one more Paula to the team is Paula Reece from Crossroads Health & Fitness who got the call from Paule. She was quick to commit.
“I was really excited to think that we were going to pull this together. It seemed like such a huge ordeal when it started, but we’re doing it!” Reece said.
Personal trainer, counseling and the right exercise program helps to ensure physical fitness for a lifetime.
“They both are saying ‘wow, we had no idea how good we can feel and how much energy we have and how much more we’re getting done,’ so that part’s really exciting," Reece continued.
The big reveal party is coming up next month. You can be there to see the before and the after in addition to helping one of Paule’s favorite organizations, Partners.
