Body found believed to be missing Loma woman
A body found in Loma is believed to be that of the 62 year old missing woman
The search for a Loma woman who went missing this weekend appears to be over. A body found this morning in Loma is believed to be that of Roxanne Kostka.
Kostka was last seen alive Saturday afternoon at her home in the 1400 block of M Road. After failing to locate her, her family became concerned and called police. With the help of the sheriff's office, Mesa County Search and Rescue, and the Colorado National Guard, a search began yesterday for the 62 year-old woman.
Authorities continued into the night until they received a tip just before 10AM this morning that a body had been found.
“We found a deceased adult female who we believe is our missing person and that goes in line with some other information that we obtained this morning” said Heather Benjamin of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
The body was found this morning in Loma between N and O Roads and 15 and 16 Roads.
Authorities say information obtained this morning indicated Kostka wanted to harm herself. The Mesa County Coroner will determine the cause of death and confirm the identity.
