A Grand Valley art gallery is celebrating a mile-stone anniversary.
It’s been five years since the Blue Pig first opened in downtown Palisade.
Over that short time, its changed location, owners, and showcased art from dozens of local artists.
The gallery is known around the area not just for its art, but for its parties.
The Blue Pig says it continues to gain recognition from the community and even calls itself a Grand Valley land mark.
“Almost everyone knows where the Blue Pig Gallery is,” gallery director, Kay Crane, said. “We call it the destination gallery because people actually plan a trip to Palisade to come and see the Blue Pig, visit, and see the art.”
The Blue Pig and its gift shop show work from nearly a hundred different local artists.
It hopes to continue expanding and draw more people to the Grand Valley.
