A Grand Junction family is starting up their own small business, selling blue bunny ice cream to locals in town. Business owner Wade Dickinson and his wife Karen are excited about the expansion.
Dickinson is a former businessman who was working in the cellular industry when the opportunity for selling blue bunny fell into his lap. Coming from Denver, the family says they wanted a smaller town to sell the ice cream. Dickinson says they couldn't have done it without the help of the incubator.
“It's a great opportunity, I mean they have just helped so much in starting up and getting everything in order, it's been great. The incubator's great it's helped us you know for start- up business's financially it's been fantastic.”
The business is currently selling its ice cream to local gas stations and at special events and parties around town. You can also find them on the streets of Grand Junction, as they have their own ice cream truck.
Blue bunny ice cream also wants to help provide jobs to locals in Grand Junction. Dickinson says he'll soon be hiring drivers and there will also be opportunities for help in marketing and sales.
