An organization dedicated to supporting our troops needs your help.

Operation Interdependence sends letters and care packages overseas, spending thousands of dollars on postage every month.

To offset the costs, the non profit is hosting a birdhouse making competition.

It has a booth set up at Shabby Chic Boutique off First and Patterson.

You can support the cause by voting for your favorite birdhouse and buying a door prize ticket.

The goal is to raise postage funds to send packages to as many service men and women as possible.

“Its costing us more to ship the boxes now than it did before,” Karen Carley, with Operation Interdependence, said. “It’s important to raise the postage funds.”

Operation Interdependence will have the birdhouses on display until March 16th.

The boutique is open Monday through Saturday, 9am to 7pm
