In just the last 48 hours, the Bureau of Land Management says they have responded to 29 fires in the Grand Junction area from the state line to the Mesa.
Officials say most are considered small - just one tree or so. However, there are two rather large ones burning south of the Colorado River in the Black Ridge Wilderness Area.
It is called the Wrigley Fire and is estimated to have burned about 40 acres.
Fire crews are assigned to the blaze that is not threatening any structures. A helicopter is also assisting.
Meanwhile, a 460-acre fire continues to burn in very remote terrain in that area as well. The Long Mesa Fire also has several crews assigned to it.
Another fire was reported just west of the Powderhorn Ski Resort on Saturday. Fire crews estimate it to be burning about two acres. Fire crews are also responding there.
