Authorities patrolling for NYE drunk drivers
As you ring in the New Year, local authorities are asking you to be responsible.
Already in this long holiday weekend, four people have been arrested by Colorado State Patrol for drinking and driving.
Authorities expect those numbers to rise.
Extra patrols and troopers are out on the roads, meaning more people getting caught and charged.
Sergeant Justin Mitchell is one of many who will be looking for drunk drivers on New Year’s Eve.
“Please think before you go out, have a plan, designated driver, and be as safe as you possible can,” Mitchell said.
If you suspect someone of drunk driving, CSP urges you to dial *CSP or call 9-1-1.
State patrol is being joined by local police and sheriff's offices for the New Year’s crackdown on drunk driving.
