Aspen police are looking for the person who stole thousands of dollars after someone placed an information skimming device on an ATM at a local bank.
Police refused to identify the bank that was targeted between Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.
The skimmers are small electronic devices that copy information from bank cards inserted into an automatic teller machine or other automatic pay stations. The copied data allows for the creation of a duplicate credit or ATM card.
According to the Aspen Daily News (http://tinyurl.com/a76q28o ), some of the victims had all of their money stolen.
