The Aspen City Council is hoping to encourage pedestrians and outdoor dining by putting patios in some of its parking places.
The main parking spots being considered for the so-called parklets are mostly located in an area the city considers restaurant row.
According to the Aspen Daily News (http://tinyurl.com/adfnrrx ), the patios could be installed before the winter season's end as part of an experiment to promote pedestrian and bicycle use over cars.
