The average home price in Aspen is a cool $4.6 million, making it the most expensive town in America, according to a new report.

The report, published in Friday's Wall Street Journal, shows the price of homes has actually fallen in Aspen, from $6 million in 2010 to $4.6 million this year. However, the median price for single-family homes well surpasses the Hamptons, Beverly Hills and Palm Beach, the report said.

A 90-acre estate has just gone up for sale. The asking price, just shy of $49 million. According to the realtor's website, the 21,000 square foot home took 15 years to build and has a second main house, at 11,000 square feet.

The least expensive home in the Aspen area is just under $600,000. Not bad, for a population of just more than 5,000 people.
