Are You In?
KJCT News 8 teams up with ABC World News to see if people are buying "Made in America" labels for the holidays
Tis the season to hit the malls and do a little holiday shopping! Americans will spend more than $586 billion this year on holiday gifts, that's $750 per shopper; and how many of those gifts are American made? We set out to mesa mall to find out.
"It's an indoor-outdoor helicopter. We can call it Ontario, Canada or Hong Kong, whichever," said shopper Vernon Sabala.
Strike one on American made presents, but what about this guy? I mean you can't get any more American than the Dallas Cowboys right?
"Guatemala," he says.
Actually out of everyone that we talked to, no one had one single that was made in the United States! But all agreed on one thing.
"I would absolutely help promote American companies," said Sabala. "I would definitely buy American made products."
So maybe these shoppers will think twice next time they shop for those loved ones, and show they're in with buying American made products.
