We have confirmed that there was an armed robbery involving a handgun at about 4pm at the Check Into Cash in the Rimrock Shopping Center.
Around that time, Grand Junction police were dispatched to 2546 Rimrock on a report of a robbery in progress.
The suspect is described as, a male in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 140-150 pounds.
Sgt. Derek Rosales, with the Grand Junction Police Department, says the alleged robber is said to have walked into the business carrying a handgun. He then demanded money and then fled the area with and undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as wearing a grey hoody with silver designs, dark sunglasses and no facial hair.
A canine unit was dispatched to the area to help find the suspect.
A handgun was discovered behind the Einstein Bagels building in that same shopping center.
