GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Another day, another few cents. Gas prices are climbing at record rates in the Grand Valley all while families gear up for holiday travels.AAA Colorado says gas stations are taking advantage of what they expect to be a busy weekend on the road. The average gallon of gas will cost you about $2.79 in Grand Junction. That's up from $2.75 last week, and $2.77 just Tuesday night. But, the national average is going down. So how is this possible?AAA says it's all a game of supply and demand, and that the national average might be misleading."[Places like] California, Washington, and Oregon are experiencing gas prices between $3.00 and $3.25 a gallon," Wave Dreher with AAA said. "But then if you look at the to the southeast part of the country, their gas prices are as low as $2.45 a gallon."AAA says gas prices could still climb through the weekend, but usually they start to die down after Labor Day.Either way, drivers aren't happy with what they're going through right now. Some can't even afford to buy a full tank of gas. And many are accusing the gas stations of taking advantage of them and even price gouging. For more on that report, click on the video link to the left.
