GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Military Families of America held a fundraiser yesterday to collect care items for our troops overseas. But with more units to ship to than expected, they still need help from the community to carry out the task.Military Families of America want to make sure no soldier on their list is left out.The care packages are expected to be shipped sometime next week. They've received enough donations to send to their units, but they're in need of more than just care items to reach their goal.According to Julie Dominguez with Military Families of America, "Postage is what kills us, you know it's expensive. Our last shipment cost us over 800 dollars and that was half of what we have now."If you want to help support the troops by donating a care item or money to help with shipping costs, you can go to The Honey Baked Ham, The Ink Store, Ute Water Conservancy District, Big League Haircuts or the Family Food Town in Palisade. For more information on these locations or care packages in general, just click on the link to the Military Families of America website.
