Center for Independence hosts a Canine Christmas
Christmas is an exciting time of year... not just for people but dogs as well.
Today Grand Junction’s first ever "Canine Christmas" took place.
The event was hosted by the Center for Independence as a fundraiser for future projects.
Dogs had a chance to strut their stuff in a Christmas costume contest.
Face painting, hot chocolate and pictures with Santa were also part of the festive event.
“It's a little bit silly and fun, it's a dog costume contest, and it's our first annual, it's to benefit the center for independence," said event coordinator, Lexi Sherwood.
Sherwood wants to thank the community for bringing their loved animals to the event.
She hopes this canine Christmas is just the first of many.
