SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- Authorities say a brush fire about twenty miles south of Salt Lake City threatens a dozen homes there.
Draper City Police said in a Thursday statement the fire at about 2600 South has grown to cover twenty acres.
Authorities are asking people living and working in the area to leave the buildings.
They say there is no mandatory evacuation in place.
A Tuesday lightning strike ignited a separate blaze in Beaver County's northeastern Pine Valley.
No homes are at risk but the fire is expected to grow as winds pick up.
Crews are working to contain both fires.
Authorities in recent weeks said they are optimistic this season's wildfires will be manageable. A healthy dose of late spring showers helped improve parched conditions in Utah.
