GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) City spokeswoman Karlyn Tilley tells KMGH-TV in Denver two men jumped into Clear Creek at Lions Park at around midnight Friday. One of them was able to make it to shore, but the other disappeared in the rapids. The search was called off Saturday afternoon.
Swimming and tubing are currently prohibited in Clear Creek, and Tilley says the water is moving twice as fast as what is considered normal for this time of year. Adding to the danger, the waterway is sweeping logs and debris downstream.
The missing man's name has not been released.
