GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Prescription drug and heroin abuse have become big problems among kids and teens. This is the reason that the sheriff's office, along with Crime Stoppers, is holding 3 different classes to help educate parents and their kids about the issue.
The second class was held Tuesday night at Canyon View Vineyard Church. This is a topic many parents in the valley are concerned about, and many of them brought their kids to the meeting.
"The prescription drug thing hits hard with our family. We lost our mom over a year ago and I brought him here to see what's out there and what's coming up, what to stay away from," said Curtis Powd, a Grand Junction resident.
Part three of the series will be held next month held in December.
