GREELEY, Colo. (AP) -- Greeley police say a man told officers he stabbed his wife multiple times in the chest at home and then went to authorities to surrender.
Police say 47-year-old Martha Trinidad was pronounced dead at a hospital at 2:43 p.m. Friday. Authorities say two hours earlier, 51-year-old Juan Manuel Velasquez-Trinidad went to the Greeley police department where he spoke to officers about the crime.
The Greeley Tribune reports (http://goo.gl/swS3cC) that Velasquez-Trinidad is under arrest on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Lt. Steve Nelson says police are continuing to investigate and more details likely won't be available until next week.
