CLIFTON, Colo. Update: Authorities have contacted the owners of the mobile home. However, the cause remains under investigation. Two dogs were recovered from the scene, both had passed away. All 14 firefighters who helped put out the flames were not injured.
A trailer fire destroyed the structure and has authorities working hard to find out exactly how it started.
The Clifton Fire Department responded to calls of a fire on the 500 block of Pearce Avenue in Clifton last night.
Two engines from the Grand Junction Fire Department assisted in knocking down the flames.
No one was in the structure at the time of the incident, but authorities with the Clifton Fire Department say there were animals inside.
The trailer is a total loss and authorities will continue to investigate the cause.
Crews were standing by to secure the scene early Friday morning until an investigator arrived to survey the situation.
