GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. A man whose face is familiar in local politics is putting his hat in the ring once again, this time seeking a seat as County Commissioner.
Former Grand Junction City Councilman and Mayor Bill Pitts is now running for Commissioner in District 2.
Pitts made the announcement Monday and cited his business experience, long-time residence and previous political offices as qualifications for his candidacy. He says he wants to focus on joint projects between the City and COunty if he's elected.
Pitts also says he's not looking for campaign contributions, believing money has corrupted politics in general.
