PALISADE, Colo. The Palisade Police Department has announced the opening of its law enforcement work stations at Taylor Elementary and Palisade High School.
Now department officers will be much more available in the schools to help crack down on incidents of crime.
These work stations are vital for officers, giving them the ability to complete work at the schools while upping the safety and providing availability and visibility to students and faculty.
"I really like the dynamic of having the interaction with the staff and students and this is just a really good fit for our community," Palisade PD Chief Tony Erickson said.
The state has been looking for ways to put school resource officers in every school, but there's been a funding issue.
