Deputies respond to shots fired at residence

A man was discovered with non-life threatening gun shot wounds and was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle last night.

Grand Junction, Colo. – On December 21, 2013, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Mesa County Sheriff deputies responded to a "shots fired" call from dispatch in the 200 block of Beaver Street, Grand Junction. Grand Junction Police officers also responded to assist.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they found that a 19-year-old male with non-life threatening gun shot wounds had already been transported to St. Marys Hospital by a private vehicle. A second victim, also a 19-year-old male had been assaulted, but did not sustain any injuries from a gun.

Investigators and deputies are still conducting interviews and this case remains open and under investigation.
