Deputies make two meth arrests

Mesa County , Colo. -- Deputies made two different meth arrests last night.

Law enforcement officials with the Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle around 9 p.m. at 9th Street and Pitkin Avenue. Rick Sill was arrested without incident and booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on:

- Displaying and possessing a deadly weapon during an offense
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
- Two traffic infractions

Before noon on May 14, deputies responded to a report of a “very loud argument” in the 600 block of Susan Street in Clifton. Deputies spoke with a woman and man who was identified as 58-year-old Robert Dix, Jr. By court order, the adult female is a protected party from Robert and the court order also states Robert is not allowed to be at the residence on Susan Street.

Robert was then arrested on the violation of protection order and was found to have nearly two grams of suspected meth in his shirt pocket. He was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility on the protection order violation and a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
