GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. A propane tank caught fire this morning, but the men who started the fire were the same ones who put it out.
It was part of a 12 week recruit academy training program for the Grand Junction Fire Department.
This marks the last week of the program where firefighters practiced putting out fires including a propane fire, which is more dangerous than other kinds of fires.
Nine firefighters have spent the last couple of months doing active training's like the one today to prepare them to hit the streets.
Officials say training exercises give practical experience and helps new firefighters understand techniques for quickly and safely putting out fire.
